PRESIDENT'S BRIEF CASE AND THE ATOM BOMB

     


     US president's aide always carries a bridf case using which he can annihilate the world at any moment.  Yes, it is a black leather suitcase weighing 45 pounds and it is always within the reach of the US president.  It is nicknamed "nuclear foot ball".
     On the day, the US president sworn in, he receives the world's most powerful ciphers(encrypted text) called the gold codes, they are printed on a plastic card similar to a credit card that is known as the BISCUIT.  They allow the president to identify him or herself as the authorized user of the foot ball.  President's carry the biscuit on their person day and night.    The nuclear football is carried by one of a series of rotating military aides who are always with the president, travelling in the same vehicle, taking the same elevator, and staying on the same floor of a hotel.  These aides have undergone extensive psychological testing.
     The foot ball is a communications device for contacting the joint chief of staff and the national military command center.  In the event of nuclear war, the president would decide the target and dimensions of the attack.  Also, the vice president has a duplicate of the Nuclear foot ball.
    Triggering a nuclear holocaust is as easy as tweeting, only if a president wishes.  OK what is Nuclear bomb?  Einstein said matter(mass) and energy is one and the same.  Both can be inter-converted according to the famous formula E= mc^2.  When a big atom like Uranium is broken (fission) by bombarding neutrons, some mass is lost which converted into energy.  In a fission process, a few more neutrons are also released.  These neutrons cause further fission and the chain reaction continues uncontrollably resulting in the explosion.  During the explosion, tons of energy is released in the shape of heat, light, radiation causing very high temperature and pressure.  In such an environment, no life can survive.
    Today, many countries have missiles carrying nuclear war heads.  They are mainly used as 'deterrent' and not in the actual war.
     Hiroshima and Nagasaki is enough for the mankind.  Now, Nuclear energy is used for the peace purpose.  When chain reaction is controlled, Nuclear bomb becomes Nuclear reactor in which, we can safely extract electrical energy.
     We strongly hopes and wishes that US president never gets the opportunity to use the "foot ball" and the "biscuit".

THE PARABOLA

          A jet of water shooting from a hose pipe will follow a parabolic path.  What is the so special about parabola.    Y= x^2 Draw a graph for the above equation.  It will result in a parabola.  This parabola is also called unit parabola.  Any equation involving square will yield a parabola. Example:  Y = 2x^2 +3x+3 (also called quadratic equation)    X= 2 and -2, both  satisfies the equation 4 = X^2.  Parabolic equations always have two solutions.     Any motion taking place freely under gravity follows parabolic path. Examples:   An object dropped from a moving train,   A bomb dropped from flying plane,  A ball kicked upwards.      If a beam of light rays fall on the parabolic shaped mirror, they will be reflected and brought to focus on a point.  This fact is made use of in Dish Antenna, Telescope mirrors, etc.      Inverted parabola shape is used in the construction of buildings and bridges.  Because the shape is able to bear more weight.      A plane

           Let us find out how the casino survives with mathematics.      Say, your friend invite you for a game of dice.  You must bet (wager) 2 dollars.  If you roll 'six' you will get back 8 dollars.  The game will go on for 30 rounds.  All sounds good.      The probability of rolling 'six' is 1/6.  Since the game will be played for 30 times, the 'expected win' is 30*1/6 = 5.  That is, you are expected to win 5 rounds out of 30.  Hence your gain will be 5 * 8 =40 dollars.  ok.  This also implies that you will loose 25 rounds.  Hence your loss will be 25*2 =50 dollars.  Your net gain will be gain-less = 40-50 = -10 dollars. For 30 rounds, the loss is -10 dollars, Hence, for one round =-10/30 = -1/3 dollars.  There will be a loss of -1/3 or 0.33 dollars per round.  It is not a fair game.     Let us make a simple formula to calculate  'Pay out per round\.
