ASTROLOGY

🔹 Astrology vs. Science

Science is built on testable, repeatable evidence. A claim in science must:
  1. Be measurable.

  2. Make predictions that can be tested.

  3. Work the same way for everyone, everywhere.

Astrology, on the other hand:

  • Suggests that the positions of planets and stars influence human personality and events.

  • Is based on ancient traditions from Babylon, India, Greece, China, etc.

  • Provides meaning, guidance, and symbolism rather than measurable physical mechanisms.

🔹 Why Astrology is Not Considered a Science

  • No physical mechanism: Planets are too far away for their gravity or radiation to affect human traits at birth.

  • Inconsistent predictions: Controlled studies show that astrological predictions are not more accurate than chance.

  • Not testable or falsifiable: If a prediction fails, it’s often reinterpreted instead of rejected.

So, in the strict scientific sense, astrology is not a science.

🔹 Why Astrology Still Matters to People

Even if it’s not science, astrology has value in other ways:

  • Psychological comfort: It helps people reflect on themselves and their lives.

  • Cultural heritage: It has shaped art, literature, rituals, and worldviews for thousands of years.

  • Personal storytelling: Horoscopes and zodiac signs offer a symbolic language to talk about personality and destiny.

  • Decision-making ritual: Some people use it like meditation or prayer — a way to pause and think.

In short:
Astrology is not a science, but it is a powerful cultural system and psychological tool. It lives more in the world of myth, symbolism, and personal meaning than in the lab of physics and chemistry.
