Earth is conducive for life and intelligent life is evolved on the earth. Any intelligent life will think, why we are here? Where we are heading? What is the purpose of our existence? Let us search for the answers.
We, human beings invented and contributed in arts, literature, science and engineering. The language I am writing is the pure invention of mankind. We made our life as comfortable as possible { or as complicated as possible}. In future, we may conquer all diseases; may live longer; may create designer babies; may create vegetation of our like; may teleport our selves; may colonize mars; may go beyond solar system; in short, we may play god.
That is all okay. But what is our destination? Is there any super force moving the humanity towards a predetermined destiny? Are we going to wiped out with all our knowledge, when the sun dies and the solar system disintegrates?
The long time hard work of humanity will not go waste and our works will not end in fire. The human journey will go on or will reach a proper destination which is the great enigma for now.
The human life is like a relay race. A young man runs with relay stick for some distance and hands it over to another youth and retires from the ground. We must live our life well and to the fullest. Then we must hand over our knowledge, wisdom, properties and innovations to the next generation. Then we retire.
Live in present . Future will take care of itself.
Individual, society and humanity may have lofty goals. But enjoy your daily little and cute wishes that keeps us going.
So enjoy that train journey sitting by the window; hearing popular melody and tasting the fried green tomatoes at the whistle-stop cafe.
Well said sir.
ReplyDeleteHuman lifespan is too short to meddle our present into a future which is millions of years distant to us.
But, as said in Space oddessey, we will evolve ourselves into just mind, the matter would become obsolete to our existence. We can see the progress of science and technology, how devices are becoming smaller and minutive. Body organs are starting to get replaced machines. If everything is replaced by machines except for our mind, then won't we be only in a world of pure consciousness, where matter actually won't matter to us. I think that would be a beginning of immortality.
But again, that's a hypothesis and wishful thinking to entertain our nimble minds.
